White sauce pasta, also known as Alfredo pasta, is a creamy and indulgent Italian dish. The sauce is typically made from all purpose flour, butter, heavy cream, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, creating a rich and velvety texture but I am preparing a weightloss version of this pasta. Therefore, I didn’t use all purpose flour but I have used oats flour and no oil or butter has been used in this recipe. Rolled Oats I am using for this recipes are gluten free so this cusuine is GLUTEN FREE. There is a variety of pasta like pasta noodles, such as fettuccine or penne, are cooked until al dente and then tossed in the creamy sauce until fully coated.
White Sauce Pasta is one recipe which I used to crave during early 20’s and then I used to go to Cafes with friends to enjoy it. However, when I started cooking, I knew I had to learn to make a good homemade white sauce pasta loaded with veggies. My first attempt was with regular ingredients which we use to make the white sauce pasta but recently I invented this healthy version of pasta where I have used Oats flour to make the white sauce, added a lot of vegetables and used chickpeas pasta to make it high protein. I generally make this when we want to eat a nice cozy bowl of pasta. This is a great option to make when you have friends over for dinner or even during holidays! I prepared this pasta during New year Party and everyone in my family loved it.
Let’s talk a bit about the recipe
There are 3 main parts to this recipe
- Preparing the pasta sauce
- Preparing the Vegetables
- Preparing the Pasta
Preparing the Pasta Sauce
To Prepare the sauce, saute the oats flour and then add milk in it. Use a whisk to stir the sauce and make it lump free. When its creamy and thick, add seasonings like garlic powder (because I am not using garlic cloves here), oregano & chilli flakes. The important thing here is to use a whisk when you add in the milk and whisk continuously until all the flour and milk is mixed well together.
Preparing the Vegetables
You can use any veggies that you like in this pasta. I added onions, mushroom, peppers and broccoli along with some olives. You can add some sweet corns also.
Preparing the Pasta
I have used chickpeas pasta which is fusseli shape but this pasta goes well with Penne and Spaghetti shapes as well. I love Spaghetti white sauce pasta. There was a time when I didn’t know the different Pasta shapes and I accidently ordered Spaghetti Pasta there. Since then, I love to eat the same. To Prepare the Pasta, you need at least 1.5 L water to properly boil the pasta.
